Choosing and seating on an Ergonomic Chair

Anyone who spends many hours of study or work sitting at a desk knows this: over time, disturbances caused by a too sedentary position may occur. For this reason choosing an ergonomic chair instead of a "traditional" chair can improve the phsycophysical well-being: it helps to improve posture, promotes blood circulation and deeper breathing.

Neck

Reduction of cervical disorders and muscle-tension headache

Eyes

Comfort and functionality of the position improve attention and efficiency

Lumbar

Prevention of back and lumbar column pain

Chest cavity

The sitting posture, similar to the standing position, maintains regular breathing.

Legs

Improvement, thanks to movement, peripheral circulation and the feeling of heaviness and swelling in the lower libs.

Reclined seat

The particular inclination of the seat cancels the overload of the lumbo-sacral area

Swing base

The different oscillating systems, depending on the model, avoid the "static" posture, stimulate movement and reduce the tendency to assume alternative but incorrect positions.

Knee supports

Supports significantly limit the fatigue of the muscles of the column.

How to choose fabric for the Variér ergonomic chair

The coverings for the Variér ergonomic chairs are made with particular attention to sustainability: most of the fabrics use recycled materials to minimize the environmental impact.
The parameters to consider when choosing the fabric are:

Composition

The materials used for the fabric.

Resistance

Ability of the fabric to resist abrasion, tearing and pilling (the formation of "little balls" of fiber due to rubbing). To measure it, the Martindale index is used, which considers the number of abrasion cycles to which the fabric being tested are subjected. Es. 15.000 Martindale = fabric suitable for normal use; 30.000 Martindale = fabric suitable for use in public spaces or shopping centers. The higher the index, the greater the resistance.

Resistance to light

It indicates if and how soon the fabric tends to discolour if exposed directly to the sun's rays. It is measured with a parameter ranging from 1 (minimum resistance) to 8 (maximum resistance).
