Ferm Living products are Scandinavian-inspired, characterised by simple, harmonious shapes, light colours and enhancement of the natural characteristics of the materials.

Attention to detail is a fundamental characteristic for the company, which, from a green perspective, aims to reduce waste to a minimum, paying great attention to product quality control.

Sustainability throughout the product's life cycle

Around 20% of ferm products are made from sustainable or recycled materials. An example of this is the Desert deckchair, which is made from PET yarn, a material that is completely made from plastic bottles.

The company's sustainable thinking starts at the design stage, and Ferm leaves nothing to chance, including the recycling of the product at the end of its life cycle. Ferm tries to make disassembly simple or to build objects out of a single material so that, once unusable, they can be completely recycled.

The company adopts the concept of aesthetic sustainability: quality products, with a design that will not easily go out of fashion, to encourage conscious buying.

From do-it-yourself wallpaper to international company

Ferm Living was born in 2005, when its founder, Trine Andersen, could not find a suitable wallpaper for her new home and decided to create her own. Trine created 10 wallpapers which she then decided to exhibit at a trade fair and market. People started asking for tablecloths and cushions with the same prints and the rest took care of itself. Today Ferm Living is internationally known, not only for the design of its products, but also for its concern for the environment and it's warkers.
