Raw materials and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of Serax products. A heterogeneous set of objects and pieces of furniture produced and created by designers from all over the world, who find a meeting point in the search for beauty and simplicity. Serax products are suitable for a variety of environments. The strong lines lend themselves to modern interiors, the raw materials go well with rustic areas and the colourful details are well suited to Mediterranean-style homes.
The collaboration between Serax and Antonino Sciortino
In recent years Serax has established a collaboration with Italian designer and craftsman Antonino Sciortino. The artist, who began working with iron at a young age in his father's workshop, has created for Serax a series of objects and furniture made with baked wire, a type of iron that, thanks to its malleability, makes it possible to create light, innovative furniture and design objects. Sciortino's collection is modern, but with a reference to the past. Among the most iconic pieces in the collection are the Fleurs en metal Ciuriddu, flowers made of coloured iron wire, each one different from the other, which when combined create fun and jaunty compositions.
The design idea of two brothers who managed to create a multinational company out of their garage
Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche grew up in the flower pot business in their mother's company. In 1986 the two brothers set up their own small company in their garage. Within just a few years they were able to expand, and thanks to their collaboration with designers Peter Arts and Daniel Ost, they won the prize for the best flower arrangement at the French design fair Maison & Object, marking their careers forever. Today Serax is a multinational company based in Antwerp and collaborates with many well-known and emerging designers from all over the world.
