Design that has made history

Currently, GUBI focuses its production on iconic design pieces that have made history from the 1930s to the present day, not to forget that you can always learn from the past.

Examples are the mirrors by Jacques Adnet, who created a leather belt support in the 1950s, which still has a contemporary look today, or the modular shelves by Mathieu Matégot, who in 1955 combined metal tubing with sheet metal, creating Dédal, a light and innovative piece of furniture.

From the Danish to the international scene

GUBI was born in 1967 in Denmark, from the passion for design of Gubi Olsen and his wife Lisbeth Olsen. The two initially focused their production on upholstered furniture and invented a fabric for furniture, called Holmens Klæde. Over the years, Jacob Gubi, son of the founders and current owner, has been able to move GUBI onto the international design scene by collaborating with designers from all over the world.
