B-Line drawer unit, Boby model, design by Studio Joe Colombo.
Boby is a trolley storage unit which has made its mark on history, mainly due to its outstanding versatility. Designed to guarantee simple vertically modular solutions and provide costumised storage capacity.
The structure and drawers are made of injection-moulded ABS plastic, while the casters are made of polypropylene. Boby is available in several colours.
This design trolley is a vertical composition of modules. Each module can be empty or provided with drawers, which open by turning 90°. The proposed sizes are as follows:
- S (1 module) with two drawers, (L x W x H) 43 x 42 x 31.5 cm;
- M (2 modules) with 2 drawers and 1 empty compartment, (L x W x H) 43 x 42 x 52.5 cm;
- L (3 modules) with 2 drawers and 2 empty compartments, (L x W x H) 43 x 42 x 73.5 cm;
- XL (4 modules) with 4 drawers and 2 empty compartments, (L x W x H) 43 x 42 x 94.5 cm.
On request are also available all other versions depicted in the photo gallery.
The top shelf is divided into three trays for stationery; is also available the set "additional shelf", consisting of three oak plywood or cork tops, perfect for use Boby in the kitchen also.
This design trolley is part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York and "Triennale" in Milan. Awarded first prize at SMAU in 1971.
