Additional details
What is the reason for the success of the Kartell Kabuki lamp?
The success of Kartell's Kabuki lamp stems from its ability to combine aesthetics, innovation, and technology in a single design project. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani, Kabuki reinterprets decorative tradition through a contemporary language: its perforated surface recalls the lightness of lace and hand-woven bobbin lace , creating a refined play of light and shadow.
Its sinuous and dramatic shape, inspired by the elegance of decorative workmanship and the theatrical allure evoked by the name Kabuki, makes it a recognizable and distinctive furnishing element. The technopolymer injection molding technology allows for a complex and detailed structure, transforming an industrial material into an object with an almost handcrafted look.
The combination of materials research, Kartell manufacturing quality, and Italian creativity has made Kabuki an iconic lamp, capable of enhancing both modern and classic spaces with an elegant and timeless presence.
For over fifty years, Kartell has lived in our homes with objects with an unmistakable personality. Starting in 1949, founded by Giulio Castelli, it pushed towards the renewal of everyday objects by introducing design elements in a then new material, plastic.
Today Kartell objects tell a very long story, written by the people who use them, the company that produces them strictly in Italy, and by the designers who design their shapes.
Kartell chairs, tables, accessories and furnishings link memory and future furnishing projects. Iconic lines go along with projects that break the mold, signed by prestigious Italian and international designers. And the materials embrace new philosophies: recycling, sustainability and environmental protection, with the aim of 100% green production by 2030.
